At our Hindmarsh Physiotherapy Clinic we also provide Exercise Physiology Services. Unlike a Personal Trainer, an Exercise Physiologist is a 4 year University qualified Allied Health Professional who specialises in the delivery of exercise, rehabilitation, lifestyle and behavioural modification programmes for the prevention and management of chronic disease.

Exercise Physiologists are qualified to provide strengthening and conditioning for personal fitness programmes and performance enhancement.

If you're living with a chronic condition, injury or illness, our Accredited Exercise Physiologist can help get you moving again. We understand the challenges and will work with you, and your other health professionals, to prescribe safe and effective exercise interventions.

What services do we offer

Rehabilitation from acute or chronic injury is undertaken in combination and consultation with your Physiotherapist, coach and other health practitioners.

Enhanced Primary Care Medicare visits

Medicare offers 5 visits to an Allied Health Professional which can be your Exercise Physiologist through an Enhanced Primary Care Plan. Eligible patients will need a referral from their GP.

Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, osteoporosis, recovery from cancer, obesity management, lung conditions are all recognised areas that exercise will be beneficial.We currently Bulk Bill these visits for Exercise Physiology with no out of pocket expenses.

Diabetes

Our Exercise Physiologist runs our Medicare funded classes for help with Diabetes ll management. This requires an initial assessment and 8 fully funded classes.The aims of these classes are to assist in maintaining healthy blood glucose levels and to reduce the possibility of secondary chronic conditions.

Department of Veterans Affairs

We provide clinically necessary Rehabilitation services for DVA entitled clients( Gold and white card holders with a chronic condition) with a GP referral.These can be done individually or supported in a group session.

Strengthening and fitness programs can be done in our onsite Hindmarsh Gym or off site. Our Exercise Physiologist has experience in creating exercise programs for the gym, fitness centres, home-based exercise programs, swimming pools, and programs aimed at improving your functional capacity.
 

We provide and support you with a tailored exercise plan based on your assessment to get you back to your best as soon as possible.

Our Exercise Physiologist helps empower injured workers with appropriate exercise support services, programmes, overall job fitness and self management options.

Helping to develop physical well being programmes for clients with disabilities through Self Managed and Care Managed Plans

Our Clinic provides caring rehabilitation, wellness services and functional recovery solutions for life insurance clients aiming to return you to how you were before the accident or illness. If this is not possible, rehabilitation focuses on obtaining new skills or new ways of doing things.

Many Private Health Funds offer rebates for Exercise Physiology Services. Find out more from your private fund as some policies also offer bonus payments and health prevention initiatives. No referral is needed for Private clients.
